About VNA Hospice
The families of VNA Hospice clients in their own words:
"I was reluctant to get hospice assistance for my mother when my doctor brought it up. Now I cannot imagine how I would have managed without the VNA Hospice. It surpassed my expectations and changed the course of my life along with my mother's."
"When it came time for my husband to transition to your hospice, I felt like someone had wrapped me in a security blanket and given me the confidence I needed at a most difficult time."
"The visiting nurses were wonderful. I can't say enough about your service."
The Visiting Nurse Association of Northern New Jersey Hospice (VNA Hospice) has supported thousands of people in the midst of one of life's most emotional and challenging experiences. Our life-affirming hospice care affords patients the opportunity to remain in the comfort and dignity of their own homes surrounded by loved ones.
A gentle transition into the final phase of life
Throughout our history, the VNA has cared for homebound individuals at every stage of life. The establishment of a dedicated hospice program in 1996 was a natural outgrowth of our century-old tradition of providing the finest quality, compassionate care. Our experience and expertise as a comprehensive home care provider makes us uniquely qualified to help patients and their families transition seamlessly to palliative care and hospice care when necessary. In fact, patients who are already under VNA care when their needs change are given the option of continuing to receive assistance from the VNA home care team they are familiar with. The services provided by the team are adjusted and expanded to include end-of-life, hospice support.
Working in coordination with each client's personal physician, VNA Hospice attends to the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of our patients and their families. In fact, hospice support for family members continues for up to 13 months after the passing of a loved one with individual and group bereavement counseling. VNA Hospice care bereavement services are also offered for the public at various sites throughout the greater Morris area. Please call 1-800-WE-VISIT for more information about scheduled sessions or to make special arrangements.
