I had reversible shoulder replacement surgery on May 31, 2016 at St. Clares Hospital in Denville, NJ. After I got home, I had excellent care from two amazing nurses from The Visiting Nurse Association.

    Mariame: Nurse - From June 2nd - June 28, 2016
    Christina: Physical Therapist - From June 15 - July 8, 2016

I want to thank both of you for the wonderful care that I got from both of you after my shoulder surgery. I wanted to write and praise the care they gave me at my home.

Thank you for making a stressful situation more bearable by providing me with positive, excellent, thoughtful and compassionate care.

    Dear Visiting Nurses,

I am the daughter of a recent patient of yours. My Dad sadly passed away on August 5 while under your care, and I felt a great need to thank your agency for the care you provided my Dad with since the beginning of the year.

I know, better than anyone that my Dad was a stubborn man and difficult to deal with at times, but every nurse who visited him was always professional and patient, not only with him but also with me. As a teacher, I felt so uneducated and was lost in unchartered territory so my questions were endless, and Dad was just trying to hold on to his dignity and independence for as long as he could. I cannot express how appreciative I am that your entire staff recognized this.

Although we dealt with many nurses over the eight month-period, and everyone was so very helpful, I do want to personally thank Michelle for fielding all my phone calls (you were always so pleasant, understanding, and helpful), Jackie (for allowing my Dad to maintain some sense of dignity in the end), and Swata (for winning my Dad over very early on, for continuously making him laugh and smile.)

Words don't seem enough, but again, I thank you ... you are all such caring and compassionate individuals (absolutely angels on earth), and I am eternally grateful for your help.

    With much admiration,

Jenna Stoner has been my contact at VNA since mid year 2015 in regards to my mom.

In that time period we had a few aides, until Jenna sent us Cheryl Olson who has been positively wonderful!!

I’m writing today however, to let you know how wonderful it’s been working with Jenna!! She always maintains a positive demeanor at all times, but above all else has been very responsive with follow up!! At no point have I ever felt that Jenna would 'drop the ball' on anything. When she commits to getting back to me, she does so in a very timely manner. I feel very fortunate to have had Jenna guiding me through this very stressful process and wanted to let you know what an asset she is.

Also, thank you all so much for the grant money you have provided to us over this time. It’s been so helpful and I hope you know how grateful we are!!

    Best regards,
    Lisa E.

I am writing to offer my opinion regarding David Bresslour in his position as Physical Therapist, as well as Jim Prince in his position as Occupational Therapist. In my experience, both David & Jim offer their many strengths. For instance, they are professional, yet quite personable. They are responsible, reliable, dependable, organized, extremely dedicated, trustworthy, as well as sympathetic, considerate, compassionate, encouraging and supportive. They provided me with safe and kind-hearted care. They pushed what I thought were my limits and, in turn, helped my progression more than I thought possible. They believed in me more than I believed in myself.

David and Jim are both able to take control and have the ability to be creative to adjust to your personal needs. They have a pleasant demeanor that is balanced perfectly with their devotion to their jobs. David and Jim are both extremely knowledgeable and offered me the best of care and sound judgment. It is my opinion that they are extremely competent individuals whose moral and ethical standards are of the highest quality.

Even though I have more therapy to conquer, I believe if it wasn’t for David, I would not be walking at all and if it wasn’t for Jim, I would not be able to use my hands. They deserve the highest acknowledgement and praise for the people they are and the jobs they do.

    Faith Falco Scott
    Visiting Nurse Association
    175 South Street
    Morristown, NJ 07960

    Dear Ms Scott:

After a brief hospitalization on July 23-24, I was visited on the following Monday and Wednesday by Kristen, the VNA nurse assigned to check me out at home. Kristen was methodical, efficient and caring. When she left after two long visits I felt secure in the knowledge that I could handle the bandaging of my right are (I am right handed) with my left hand. The healing progressed as she predicted and is well on its way to completion.

This note is intended to thank VNA for its prompt response to my case, and to thank and praise Kristen personally for being an exceptional nurse and person.

    Very truly, yours,

  • All of you have been so caring. Thank you so much for all your support!

    Diane & Bob Kitchell

  • I just want to say thank you for all your support at this difficult time.

All of you have really been a big help with your letters.
We (Me) still miss her every day.

She was my second Mom and helped so many people.

    Thank You
    Diane & Bob Kitchell

  • Dear Dolores, Sheaquan, Eva and Alahondra,

Thank you for taking such good care of my Dad during the last 2 ½ weeks of his life. We put my father, Henry, 93 years old with dementia, into palliative hospice care on September 6th. He became bed-ridden on September 8th. Your kind and supportive care enabled him to die peacefully at home on the night of September 24th. Your assistance was also helpful to my Mom who was the primary caregiver for my dad. Knowing that my father had a peaceful, relatively painless death at home has made the grieving process a little easier.

Thanks again and all the best to you,

  • To: VNA of Northern New Jersey

Please accept the enclosed in Memory of my Mother, Dorothy M. Yeomans, who was so well-served at the end of her life by your wonderful Hospice Team and personal caregivers, along with Dr. Mickey Mintz. Thank you for your wonderful care of my Mom.

    Susan Yeomans Breen

  • Dear Dr. Mintz,

I wanted to send another note of thanks for your care of my Mother this past year. That she was able to pass away peacefully in her own bedroom was beyond comforting to all of us – no doubt particularly Mom. We all appreciate the coordinated care between yourself, the VNA and Hospice, as well as our devoted in-home caregivers. My late Dad would be sending his appreciation as well had he survived.

We miss them both, but are comforted knowing that they are together again in peace.
Thank you for your devotion to our beloved profession and to my Mother.

  • Dear Lisa,

Thanks for the help I received from the VNA. I want to thank Connie who went out of her way for me also Dan Powelson; he is a great therapist. Also for all the help I received prior to the last help I got from the VNA.

“I also had a wonderful VNA aide Lillian Mahrholz. She trusted me like a mother, kind and caring. She still calls me to see how I am. God bless her.”
