When our first nurse, Anna B. Hillock, set out with her medical bag in 1898 to travel the crude roadways of Morristown, NJ on a bicycle, our organization became the first in the region to offer home nursing care. Today, a team of highly skilled Visiting Nurse Association nurses, many of whom are certified in much needed specialties, call on clients in more than 40 communities each day. Every visiting nurse also serves as a team leader and case manager who coordinates patient care and enlists the assistance of other VNA professionals whenever appropriate.
The services our skilled nurses can provide include:
- Clinical supervision
- Post-operative and post-hospitalization care
- Wound Management
- High Tech Nursing (IV Therapy)
- Patient and caregiver education
- Cardiac care
- Maternal/child healthcare
- Continence care
- Palliative and hospice care
Everyone at the Visiting Nurse Association of Northern New Jersey (VNA) cares deeply about the comfort and well-being of clients and their families. Our agency provides compassion, encouragement and reassurance along with practical home care solutions. We are committed to helping each of our clients achieve their optimum level of wellness and best possible quality-of-life. This is accomplished by working in close coordination with our patients' personal physicians and family members and establishing comprehensive, individualized care plans for each client.
